Obituary for Virginia Gentile (Oliverio)

Virginia (Oliverio) Gentile, of Springbrook Rd., Westerly, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Monday, May 8, 2017 at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late Vincent E. Gentile who predeceased her on Sept. 9, 2006.

Born in Denver, CO, she was a daughter of the late Donato and Maria Oliverio.

She had been the former co-owner and operator with her late husband of Gentile’s Market on Pierce Street in Westerly for over 40 years and Breachway Market in Misquamicut for over 30 years. Mrs. Gentile was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.

She is survived by her sister Delphina Harmon of Hagerstown, MD; as well as many devoted nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Samuel, Michael, and Daniel Oliverio and sister Mary Romano.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly on Friday at 10:30am.
