Obituary for Luigi Pagliuso

Luigi Pagliuso, 78, beloved husband of Rosa (Sposato) Pagliuso, of Cheshire, CT and previously of Westerly, RI, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Born in San Giacomo, D’Acri Italy, he was a son of the late Antonio and Rosina Pagliuso. He was a member of the Italian Army from 1959-1961.

Luigi owned and operated Luigi’s Tailor Shop for 42 years in Westerly and for 5 years in Cheshire, CT. He had also been employed with American Velvet in Stonington for 22 years. He was a devoted communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and an avid gardener and landscaper. Luigi also enjoyed making wine and spending time with his family. He was a gentle soul with a kind spirit that touched everyone he met. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughter Lisa Arciero and husband Rob of Cheshire, CT; son Tony Pagliuso and his wife Teresa of Massachusetts; seven siblings; five grandchildren; and 26 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly on Thursday at 10am. There is no procession from the funeral home to church. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mr. Pagliuso’s memory to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at tribute.themmrf.org/Luigi.
