Obituary for Douglas A. Gilleo

Douglas A. Gilleo, 87, of Gilleo Drive, Westerly, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Friday, June 16, 2017. He was the husband of the late Anne (Murano) Gilleo.

Born in Santiago, Chile, he was a son of the late Wallace and Dorothea Gilleo.

Doug worked at Electric Boat in Groton for many years. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Westerly BPOE #678 where he was an Exalted Ruler. He also served as State President of the RI Elks.

He was recently predeceased by his beloved dog and companion, Max. Doug was also predeceased by his sister Mary and brother Wallace.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, June 22nd at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to church.
