Richard D. Comolli, 90, of Bellevue Ave., Westerly, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Thursday, July 13, 2017. He was the husband of the late Maria (Benoit) Comolli.
Born in Nashua, NH, he was a son of the late Feruccio and Johanna Comolli.
After serving with the Seabees in the US Navy during WWII, Richard worked in the Granite Industry and started Comolli Granite, which he owned and operated for 28 years earning a reputation as an expert stone carver. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and a longtime public servant of the Town of Westerly as a member and Past President of the Westerly Town Council. In addition, Richard was a member of the Westerly Fire Dept. Cyclones, the BPOE No.678, and the Westerly Lions and Armory. He was a former Cub Scout leader for Pack 10, and President and Coach of the Westerly Little League.
He is survived by four children, David R. Comolli (Donna) of Charlestown and George A. Comolli, Melinda Boeglin (Barry), and Andrew V. Comolli (Tyann), all of Westerly. He will also be dearly missed by seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by two brothers, Ferdinand and Alfred Comolli and a sister Marion Rizzadini.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly on Wednesday, July 19, at 10am.
