Obituary for Mabel A. Purcell (Milligan)
Mabel A. (Milligan) Purcell, of Ledyard, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late Richard O. Purcell.
Born in Stonington, she was the daughter of the late James and Algertha Milligan.
Mabel worked as an inventory clerk for R.G.I.S. for many years. She was a member of St. David’s Episcopal Church in Gales Ferry and active in the Ledyard Senior Center.
She will be dearly missed by her four daughters, Denise A. Rodman of Ledyard, Barbara Argonis of Cary, NC, Patricia A. Babbini of Northfield, MN and Marielle Kearsch of Westerly; and eight grandchildren.
A Celebration of Mabel’s Life will be held at a day and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, PO Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515 in Mabel’s memory. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in charge of the arrangements. For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com
