Obituary for Donald M. Bogner

Donald M. Bogner
Donald M. Bogner, 81, of Charlestown, RI formerly of Manchester, CT, passed away peacefully at his home on September 6, 2017.

He was the beloved husband of 34 years to the late Heather S. Bogner; son of the late William Sr. and Helena Bogner and was also predeceased by his brother and sister in law, William Jr. and Anita (Brighenti) Bogner.
Don was an accomplished pilot and owned several planes over the years. He also enjoyed fishing and boating with family and friends in the Charlestown area.

Don devoted much of his life to Manchester Packing Company, Inc., a three generation family run business, which he retired from in 2011. He put his heart and soul into the family business and took tremendous pride in its growth and success, especially the development of Bravo Pet Foods.

Don is survived by his two loving daughters, Tamala Bogner of Danvers, MA and Kristal Falcone and husband Kris, of Westerly; three grandchildren, Dylan, Gianna and Isabelle Falcone; three nephews and their wives, Kurt and Deborah Bogner, Robert and Cheri Bogner and David and Tracy Bogner; and many grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.

Don will be remembered for his spunk, spirit, blunt sense of humor and “colorful” language but mostly, for his big heart and willingness to do anything for a friend in need.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to his devoted caregiver, Nathan Leonard, who was a fierce advocate, an empathetic companion and ensured Don’s life was full of laughter and dignity to the end.
