Obituary for Raymond E. Pendleton

Raymond E. Pendleton, 95, of Elm Street, Ashaway, passed away at Apple Rehab Clipper on Saturday, September 9, 2017. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” (Main) Pendleton.

Born in Westerly, he was a son of the late Frank and Martha Pendleton.

Raymond was a US Army Veteran who proudly served during World War II. Employed locally throughout his life, he retired from Imperial Wallcoverings in Ashaway. A Patriots and Red Sox fan, he loved bowling, golfing, reading Westerns and woodworking in his spare time. Ray was a member of the American Legion Hope Valley Post and a member of the Bradford Citizens Club.

He is survived by his daughters, Claire Palmer (Peter) of Sun City, AZ and Lynne E. Pendleton of Ashaway; as well as one granddaughter Beth Brocato (Marc) and their child Leah Brocato; and several nieces and nephews. Raymond was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Robert Pendleton and a grandson William R. Bane.

Visiting hours are omitted. A Funeral Service with Full Military Honors will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 10am at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 So. County Trail, Exeter. Attendees are asked to arrive outside the Administration Building by 9:45am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Operation Stand Down RI, 1010 Hartford Ave., Johnston, RI 02917 in Raymond’s memory.
