Obituary for Robert R. Mayne
Robert R. Mayne, 70, beloved husband of Florence (Cockerill) Mayne, of Ross Hill Rd., Charlestown, passed away at South County Hospital on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late William and Naomi Mayne.
Robert served in the US Air Force and later was employed as a Quality Assurance Supervisor for the Dept. of the Navy for many years leading up to his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling by train.
He leaves his wife Florence and two children, Nancy Gayle Mayne of Camp Hill, PA and Robert W. Mayne of N. Stonington, CT. Robert is also survived by two siblings, W. Kenneth Mayne of Philadelphia, PA and Nancy N. Hinchey of Enola, PA; nine grandchildren; and three nieces.
Visiting hours are omitted. A Funeral Service with Full Military Honors will be conducted at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter on Friday at 10am. Attendees are asked to arrive outside the Admin. Building by 9:45am. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in charge of the arrangements.
