Obituary for Pasquale Joseph Adimari

P. Joseph Adimari, of Westerly, beloved father and grandfather, passed away at Apple Rehab Clipper on November 14, 2017 at the age of 100. He was the beloved husband of the late Josephine (Christina) Adimari.

Joe was born in Westerly, the son of the late Angelo and Angelina Adimari. He will be dearly missed by his three daughters, Ann Crowley and Linda Stryker both of Westerly and JoAnn Itteilag of Silver Spring, Maryland. He also leaves seven beloved grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. He is survived by several cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was predeceased by all of his siblings: his sisters, Minnie, Rose and Marietta Adimari, Margaret Browning Muratore and Elizabeth Pampel; and a brother Frank Adimari. His son-in-law Michael Crowley also predeceased him.

Joe was known for his strong work ethic and his friendly and caring spirit. He held many jobs during his long life. In his early years he worked at George C. Moore Company and the A&P stores. He retired in 1986 from the Submarine Base in Groton where he worked in the Transportation Department. After his retirement he continued to work at part-time jobs into his 90’s. He was a communicant of St. Pius X Church and a member of the Calabrese Club. Joe was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing the bounty with friends and family. He will be remembered for his generosity and devotion to his family.

Joe’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bartell Crisafi, the staff of Apple Rehab Clipper and Hope Hospice for their care, love and support.

Visiting hours are omitted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
