Obituary for Ann R. Doran (Smith)

Ann R. (Smith) Doran, 79, beloved wife of John “Jack” P. Doran, of Quail Lane, Charlestown, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018.

Born in Albany, New York, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Nettie Smith and the sister of the late Allan Smith.

Ann was a member of the Arbutus Garden Club and enjoyed her grandchildren, her elaborate gardens and baking for family and friends.

In addition to her husband she leaves three children, Jordan Wertlieb (Katherine Bacon) of Weston, CT, Jill Hayes (John) of Briarcliff Manor, NY and Kimberly Topf of Lititz, PA; three stepchildren, Brian Doran of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Thomas Doran of Monroe, NY and John Doran of Stephentown, NY; and fifteen grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday, January 24 at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, RI. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a graveside funeral service at 9am on Thursday, January 25 at River Bend Cemetery, 117 Beach St., Westerly, RI.
