Obituary for Lorraine Marie Russo (Savarese)
Lorraine Marie Savarese Russo, 83, of Westerly died peacefully February 19, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband Jordan Russo.
She leaves four children, Jordan Russo Jr. of Florida, Edward Russo of Portugal, Terry Castagna of Westerly, and Laura McDonald of Florida; nine grandchildren, Trevor and his wife Brinn, Colby, Alexandra, Kevin, Anna, Ashley, Jordan, Kai and Callie; and one great grandson Caden. She also leaves six brothers and sisters.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she moved to RI in 1956, where she helped manage the family business, Chickadee Farms in Woodville, RI for over thirty years. A devoted Catholic, she volunteered for the Legion of Mary, serving as Secretary for two years, and she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
The family invites all to visitation at Gaffney Dolan Funeral home, 59 Spruce Street, Westerly, RI on Friday, February 23rd from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday, February 24th at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Association of Marian Helpers at www.marian.org For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com
