Giuseppe Luzzi, 93, beloved husband of 72 years to Francesca Luzzi, of Pierce St., Westerly, RI passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Acri, Province of Cosenza, Italy, he was the son of the late Federico and Immacolata Luzzi.

Giuseppe was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. He treasured time spent surrounded by family and friends and was so proud of all his family accomplished. He took great pride in his garden and caring for his chickens. In the fall, he loved to make homemade wine. He was always the first to pick up an accordion and start to sing, so much so that he has had an audio recording with his relatives. He enjoyed spending time around his table drinking his homemade wine and challenging family and friends to competitive Italian card games.

In addition to his wife, he will be dearly missed by his children, Federico Luzzi and wife Giorgina, Immacolata Caracciolo and husband Giuseppe, Mario Luzzi and wife Annunziata, Ida Algieri, Angelo Luzzi and wife Immacolata, Egidio Luzzi and fiancé Toni Ann, Gemma Martorino, Yolanda Beers and husband Robert, Joanna Valentini and husband Albert. Giuseppe also leaves behind three sisters Rosaria Magliari, Maria DeGiacomo and Immacolata Ritacco; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Pasquale Luzzi, Angelo Luzzi, Salvatore Luzzi, and Giovanni Luzzi.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10 am, at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. There is no procession to the church from the funeral home.
