Obituary for James Lyle
James Lyle, beloved husband of Genoveva (Leon) Lyle, of Bayview Road, Charlestown, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the age of 89.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John W. and Mary Lyle.
After serving honorably with the US Air Force during the Korean War, James worked as a route salesman for Wonder Bread for over 37 years until his retirement. He also sold real estate for 11 years. Mr. Lyle was a member of the Masons, a member and past Commander of the Saylesville Post #33 in Lincoln, a member of the Teamsters and a past President of the Fairlawn Elementary School PTA.
He is survived by his wife Genoveva and four children, Mary Farnsworth of Warwick, James Lyle, Jr. of Lincoln, Naomi Martino of E. Greenwich and Kimberly Lyle-Levi of Charlestown. He also leaves ten grandchildren; one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by his daughter Barbara Dureault.
Visiting hours are omitted. A Funeral Service with Full Military Honors will be held on Wednesday at 10:30a.m. at RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 So. County Trail, Exeter. Attendees are asked to arrive outside the Administration Building at 10:15a.m. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of RI, 143 Main St., Wakefield, RI 02879 in memory of James.
