Obituary for Valerie Kay Martin
Valerie Kay (Hirst) Martin, 81 of Ashaway died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday August 10, 2018 at the Westerly Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Albert J. Martin for the past 62 years.
Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Hirst. She worked at Imperial Wallpaper for many years as a Color Analyst. She was extremely dedicated to her family and was always available to lend a helping hand.
In addition to her husband she leaves 3 children, Denise M. Doughty of Gales Ferry, CT, Patricia K. Martin of Westerly, and Patrick Albert Martin of Ashaway. She also leaves 4 grandchildren Valerie, Rachel, and Michael Doughty, and Anthony Martin. Valerie was predeceased by her son Patrick Alan Martin as well as 7 siblings.
Visiting hours will be held in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce Street, Westerly on Tuesday, August 14th from 5-7 pm. Funeral Services and Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
