Vera P. (Parry) Glynn, beloved wife for 69 ½ years of Lawrence “Bud” Glynn, of Westminster Street in Westerly, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the age of 90.
Born in Methuen, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Sam and Vera Parry.
Vera worked as a Systems Engineer with NCR for many years until her retirement. She was a graduate of Westerly High Class of ’45 where she served as Valedictorian and was also editor of the Westerly High School newspaper. She enjoyed boating, water skiing and traveling with her husband to Hawaii, California, Florida and the Grand Canyon.
In addition to her devoted husband, she will be dearly missed by her sister Pearl P. Tapley of Westerly; and several nieces and nephews including Karen Cofoni, Edward Tapley and Sheila Fravesi. Vera was predeceased by her brother Edward Perry who died in the Battle of the Bulge.
A visiting hour will be held at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly on Saturday from 10am – 11am, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11am in the funeral home.
