Robert R. Edgar, 93, of Old Meadow Lane, Charlestown, passed away at Kent Hospital in Warwick on Friday, March 10, 2017. He was the husband for 65 years of the late Anna L. (Parnigoni) Edgar who predeceased him on February 28, 2014.

Born in Westerly, he was a son of the late Robert W. and Mabel Edgar.

Robert served in the US Navy during WWII. Later he worked for Electric Boat in Groton for many years, retiring as a Tech Aide. He was a life member of the Westerly Yacht Club and the Westerly Lodge of Elks as well as a lifelong movie, Patriots and Red Sox fan.

He is survived by his three daughters, Jan Edgar of Charlestown with whom he made his home, Donna Thomas of New London and Kathy Romanella of Westerly. Robert will also be dearly missed by his three grandchildren, Damien Carson of Groton, Chris Risica of New London and John Carson of Pawcatuck; one great granddaughter London Carson. He was predeceased by a sister Mary Lathrop.
