Miss Anna R. Murano, 97, of Tower Street, Westerly, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018.
Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Mary Murano.
Miss Murano, together with her late brother Philip Murano, owned Phil & Ann’s Restaurant in Charlestown. She and her brother Phil later operated Phil & Ann’s Motel.
Ann’s greatest joy was her nieces and nephews; having travelled with many of them throughout New England, Canada, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the Caribbean and several trips to Aruba.
She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Amancio-Falcone-Gaccione VFW Post.
Surviving, she leaves her brother Emilio “Hummie” Murano; four nephews, Philip Chiaradio, Henry Boeniger, Louis Murano and Philip Murano, Jr.; six nieces, Mary Jane Capalbo, Gloria Rhodes, Bette Gueltzow, Bernadette Glass, Mary Grace Villella and Marie-Rae Murano. She was predeceased by two brothers, Angelo Murano and Philip Murano, Sr.; four sisters, Minnie Boeniger, Sue Chiaradio, Rose Cidale and Theresa Murano; two nephews, Thomas Boeniger and Frank Cidale; and two nieces, Kathryn M. Murano and Rita Capalbo.

Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to church.
