Ann Elizabeth (Bates) Wohlleber, 74, of Newall Terrace Westerly, passed away at Royal Westerly Nursing Home on Sunday, September 9, 2018. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Wohlleber.

Born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Sherrill P. and Doris Bates.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Ann was also a longtime active member and trustee of the North Stonington Congregational Church. For many years Ann enjoyed her work in the Education department at the Mystic Aquarium. In addition, she was a member of the Mayflower Society and Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her two children, John C. Wohlleber and his wife Christy of Littleton, CO and Mary S. Turano and her husband Michael of Westerly; her brother Stephen Bates and wife Phyllis of LeMars, IA; and five grandchildren, Abigail, Robert J., Claire, Molly and Sara. Ann was predeceased by her sister Lois Walnut and her husband Thomas.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at North Stonington Congregational Church, 89 Main St., North Stonington, CT. Burial will be private.
