Brian D. O’Neil, of School Street, Westerly, passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the age of 73.

Born in Westerly, he was a son of the late Gladys and Francis E. O’Neil, Jr.

Brian worked as a machine operator for Kenyon Mill for many years until his retirement. He was a former Captain of the Shannock Fire Department and volunteered a great deal of time at SUFA in the cat sanctuary. Brian served in the US Navy in Japan and Alaska during wartime.

He is survived by his two siblings, Stephen M. O’Neil of Clemson, SC and Kathryn E. O’Neil of DeFuniak Springs, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
