Gayle (Jordan) Birchell, 68, of Holmes Street, Westerly, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Monday, October 15, 2018. She was the beloved companion of Larry Altimari of Westerly.
Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of Catherine Jordan of Westerly and the late Erwood Jordan.
Gayle worked for years as a retail clerk at Putnam Hallmark where one could always count on her to give a friendly helping hand, a spirited opinion, a good laugh or a quick story.
She will be dearly remembered by her many friends and acquaintances.

In addition to her mother and beloved companion, Gayle will be deeply missed by her three children, Kristopher Birchell and his wife Liz of Pawcatuck, Kyle Birchell and his wife Kate-Lyn of Preston, CT and Christy Birchell of Westerly; two step-children, Timothy Altimari of Westerly and Shannon Altimari of Switzerland; her sister Dayle Caswell of Pawcatuck; and several nieces and nephews. Gayle was predeceased by her sister Heather Clachrie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Funeral service and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
