Pawcatuck - Karen (Manzella) Reed, beloved wife for 38 years of Walter G. Reed, III, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on Thursday, October 25, 2018.

Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of Margaret Shaw of Westerly and the late Anthony B. Manzella; and stepdaughter of Ken Shaw also of Westerly.

A graduate of Stonington High School, Class of 1970, Karen previously worked at Westerly Jewelry and as a Manager for Bayard Publications. She was a devoted communicant of St. Michael Church. Karen loved spending time with her family and friends at the beach, pool or vacationing in Florida and Aruba.

In addition to her husband Walter, she is survived by her two children, Walter Reed IV and his wife Christina and Jennifer Dugas and her husband Brandon, all of Pawcatuck; her stepson Jeffery Reed and his wife Kerrie of Exeter; two sisters, Lynn Nadeau and her husband Roger of Pawcatuck and Laurie Torromeo and her husband Dave of New Canaan, CT; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Karen was predeceased by her daughter Aimee Lynn Reed.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are also invited to a Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary’s Church, 95 Main St., Stonington on Tuesday at 11am. There is no procession from the funeral home to church.
