Obituary for Glen D. Brotherton

Glen “Mick” Brotherton, beloved husband of Lois (Ritter) Brotherton, of Mystic, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the age of 85.

Born in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Ambrose and Bessie Brotherton.

A US Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War, Glen then worked at Electric Boat in Groton for many years where he held the position of supervisor until retirement. He was a member of Grace House in Groton and of the Mystic Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid woodworker and fisherman.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughter Nanette Tinney and her husband Tommy; two grandchildren, Ian and Travis Tinney; one great grandson Tristan; two siblings, Earl Brotherton and Betty Skotnicki; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mr. Brotherton was predeceased by his son Michael G. Brotherton and five siblings.

A Celebration of Glen’s Life will be held on, January 5, 2019 from 3 to 4 pm at Grace House, 20 Grove Avenue, Groton CT. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in care of the arrangements. For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com
