Obituary for Rose M. Lombardi (Fusaro)
Rose M. Lombardi of Westerly, RI passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 14, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Arnold Lombardi for 69 years.
Born in Westerly, RI she was the daughter of the late Sam and Filomena Fusaro. She graduated from Bryant College with a B.S. degree in Accounting and Finance. After graduation she was employed in the Loan Department of the Industrial National Bank and after raising her family, she was a secretary in the Guidance Office of the Babcock Jr. High School for many years.
In addition to her husband, Rose will be sadly missed by her four children; her sons: Arnold, Jr. and wife Kathleen Lombardi, Stephen and his wife Mary Jane Lombardi, her daughters: Dr. Elaine Wilk and her husband Dr. Richard Wilk, and Janice Bateson and her husband Derek Bateson.
Rose was the proud grandmother of seven loving grandchildren: Sarah Lynn Lombardi; Gregory, Jeffrey and Christopher Wilk; and Connor, Jillian and Cooper Bateson. She cherished her family and took much pride and joy and was happiest when family gathered at her home.
She is survived by her sister Frances Bradley and her husband Nils and her brother Clarence Fusaro and his wife Andree as well as sisters-in-law, Josie and Catherine Fusaro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her brothers, Charles Fusaro and Sam Fusaro, Jr.
Visiting hours will be held at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce Street, Westerly, RI on Monday from 10:30a.m. - 11:30a.m., immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, Westerly at 12 noon.
