Obituary for Bertha M. Mitchell (Allen)
Bertha M. (Allen) Mitchell, beloved wife of the late Robert I. Mitchell, Sr., of Canal Street, Westerly, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the age of 80.
Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late John, Jr. and Bertha Allen.
Bertha was very active in the Pawcatuck Little League’s Ladies’ Auxiliary for which she was a former President. She was also awarded the Elks Mother of the Year.
She is survived by her five children, Robert I. Mitchell, Jr., David (Natalie) Mitchell, Steven Mitchell, Leona Beaty and Walter (Heidi) Mitchell; three siblings, Roger Allen, Raymond Allen and Irene Allen; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Bertha was predeceased by two sons, Mark and Michael Mitchell.
