Obituary for Vivian J. Nasatka

Vivian “Vivvy” Nasatka, 72 of Pawcatuck, CT was called home on 1/20/21 at The Westerly Hospital. Though her death was due to COVID-19, Vivvy was never alone and passed with her loving family by her side, including two of her favorite cousins, Cheryl Holden and Barbara Thayer. We want to thank all her doctors, nurses, and caregivers for comforting our family during this difficult time and ensuring that Vivvy stayed connected to all those she loved.

Vivvy is known for her life-long dedication to her mother’s well-being, endless love and laughter she provided her friends and family, linguica rolls, devil dogs, infatuation with Halloween candy, spontaneous rides and visits to all of those she loved, playing cards and Yahtzee, nightly socials in her sitting-room, and so much more.
She cherished her moments spent with the “Sisters of the Skillet”, especially at the Feast of the Holy Ghost held annually at The Portuguese Holy Ghost Society in Stonington “Village” Borough.

Her fur-babies Kappy and Bella, and grand-fur-babies Mia, Buddha and Finley held a special place in her heart, and she loved her morning FaceTime with her only child and best friend Alexia Nasatka, whom she leaves behind. We believe that she was guided from this earth by her father Alexander Nasatka, and cousins, Robin Thomas and Ruth Beers, whom she loved so very much. Sadly, she leaves behind her beloved family: mother Elizabeth “Belle” Nasatka; sister Kim Urso and brother-in-law Michael; brother Steve Nasatka; and her niece and nephews who she treated as her own, Hailey Powers, Joseph Powers, and Alexander Powers.
We want to thank our extended family, friends, “other daughters”, and the Powers family for all your love and support, and sharing memories of your fun times with Viv.

All services are private. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Stand Up for Animals of Westerly, RI in Vivvy’s memory, as they have been taking care of her precious fur babies. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in care of the arrangements. For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com

Vivvy, fly free and we will always leave a light on for you. Rest in peace with all of those who went before you.
