Obituary for Ann-Marie Trebisacci (Brucker)

Ann-Marie Trebisacci, 88, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children at Westerly Hospital on January 23, 2021.

She was a lifelong resident of Westerly, Rhode Island, daughter of the late Francis and Mary Brucker.

Ann-Marie attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Westerly High School. She was a well-known fixture at Westerly Town Hall for 49 years, most notably working in the Town Clerk’s Office.

In 1955, Ann-Marie married the love of her life, Joseph G. Trebisacci. Together, they raised two children and spent 50 beautiful years together before Joe’s passing in 2005.

In retirement, Ann-Marie loved traveling the country and reading. She was an accomplished crafter, well-known for her crochet work, needlepoint and knitting.

She was a devout Catholic, a lifelong communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, with unwavering faith and kindness. Ann-Marie gave much of herself to others, volunteering for a variety of organizations and causes. She was active in her community, a member of several knitting groups and was especially proud of knitting baby hats for the newborns at Westerly Hospital. From collecting clothes for the needy to knitting bandages for those afflicted with leprosy for Mother Teresa’s nonprofit in India, she was always an advocate for those less fortunate.

Known for her positivity and friendship to so many, “To love and be loved is the greatest joy on earth” was her favorite quote and the guiding principle of her daily life. Ann-Marie was a person so full of life and love that all who knew her were better for it. She is already greatly missed.

Ann-Marie is survived by her daughter, Beth-Ann Stewart and her husband, J. Darren Stewart, of Mystic, CT, and her son, Timothy Trebisacci of Westerly. She leaves behind four grandchildren: M. Hannah (Stewart) Veale and her husband, John, of Charlestown, RI; Elyse Nicole Stewart of Owego, NY; Tessa Ann Adaise Stewart of Washington, DC; and Troy Nickolas Trebisacci of South Gate, MI. Ann-Marie was greatly looking forward to becoming a great-grandmother to Baby Veale this spring.

She also leaves her sister, Catherine Bressette and her husband, Raymond, of Westerly, and many dear friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Brucker.

A private Funeral Mass and burial will be held for immediate family. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce Street, Westerly, is in care of the arrangements. When it is safe to gather, a party will be held in true Ann-Marie style to celebrate her life. Details to be announced at a later date.
