Giemma was good friends with my mom, Mary Moniz. On my regular visits down to see my mom (I live in Maine), I would often pick her up and we'd all go shopping or take a ride to Watch Hill and go out for lunch and ice cream. Those girls loved to shop! One of their favorite places to go was Mystic Village. We had many good times there before I headed back to Maine. In fact, Ann Marie bought my mom's car (the white Buick) when mom could no longer drive.
I'm sorry that I did not know about Ann Marie's passing. We were such good friends all through school and she was a big help in caring for my mom before I brought her to Maine to live with me. She died at age 90 in 2007. I still miss her.
I remember meeting Adam; Ann Marie was so proud of him and liked to show him off like all good grandma's do! My condolences to your entire family.

I have so many happy memories of my husband's aunt Giemma. Every time we were able to visit Westerly, we made it a point to stop by and see her. She had a terrific sense of humor and her laugh was memorable. She told so many interesting stories about the family and growing up and living in Westerly. When you stopped by, she always had something to eat that she offered to share. My husband and I are going to miss her. It won't be the same when we visit Westerly without seeing her, God bless her surviving sons, George and David, spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the rest of the family. Cherish the memories you have of Giemma. Mary Knapp, Ridgeview, WV
