Obituary for Patricia D. Lucy (Donahue)
Patricia D. Lucy, 80, of Pawcatuck, passed away peacefully the morning of Sunday, February 7th, 2021 at The Westerly Hospital.
Patty leaves behind her loving husband Richard J. Lucy of Pawcatuck at this time; her son Eric W. Johns of Branford CT; daughter Kelly L. Marchand predeceased August 23, 2017; son Paul F. Johns of Southington CT; as well as grandchildren, Alexandra Marchand of Middletown CT and Jake Johns of Branford CT. Also left behind are her brother and sisters, as well as, many nephews and nieces.
Patty and Richard married in the summer of 1978 in Mystic CT. They shared 42 wonderful years of marriage together.
Patty spent a number of years working as a Waitress in Mystic CT. She then semi-retired and went to work at Pleasant Acres Florist and The Blue Mitten, both in Westerly RI, where she warmed the hearts of all who knew her.
Patty's life was all about family. She was forever sending out Hallmark cards for each and every holiday or life event to everyone she knew and loved. Spending time with her grandchildren was something she couldn't get enough of. Ali and Jake could always count on "Grammy" sending out that Halloween or Valentine’s Day card with a little surprise tucked inside.
Not only will Patty be missed by all of the family members and friends who knew her, but she will also be missed by the American Cancer Society, Providence Hospital, and St. Jude's Children's Hospital because of her generous donations made throughout the years.
A private graveside funeral will be held at a future time and date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patty’s memory may be made to any of the causes listed above.
