Obituary for Joseph L. Manfredi Jr.

Joseph L. Manfredi, Jr. beloved husband for 30 years of Mary (House) Manfredi, passed away unexpectedly at Kent Hospital in Warwick on Monday, April 5, 2021 at the age of 60.

Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Joseph L. Sr. and Anna Manfredi.

Joseph owned and operated Manfredi & Co. CPA along with his wife for 26 years. Aside from his profession, his true passion was hands-on home improvement projects. There was no project he was afraid to take on and was always excited to plan the next one. He always appreciated help, but he worked with such ferocity and strength- good luck keeping up with him.

He was also an avid sports memorabilia and art collector. He and his family enjoyed many trips together throughout the pursuit of his unique and incredible collection. His most recent purchase took him and his wife on a journey through nine states and ultimately ended up with the purchase of one of his favorite pieces in his collection- a set of stadium seats from Forbes Field.

Family meant everything to Joe. He structured his entire life around taking care of his wife and children. Whether it was helping a family member with a project or running from a softball game to baseball game, Joe never missed a chance to do everything he could for those that he loved. He was a great person and even better husband and father.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Mary and their two children, Kelsey L. Manfredi of Hartford and Dillon R. Manfredi of Boston, and his two furry boys, Bianco and Oliver. Joe also leaves behind five siblings, John Manfredi of Richmond, RI, Joanne Manfredi of Greene, ME, Nancy Woyak of Carolina, RI, Margaret Manfredi of Westerly and Christine O’Brien of Ft. Collins, CO; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Rose Manfredi.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 1-4pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to church. Adherence to gathering guidelines for mask wearing and distancing is required. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
