Obituary for Steven T. Gencarella
Steven T. Gencarella, of Annansis Street, Westerly, passed away at his home on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the age of 66.
Born in Westerly, he was the beloved son of the late Verna and Edward Gencarella.
Steven was an expediter for Electric Boat in Groton. A lover of baseball, he was a stand-out baseball player at Westerly High and he had also played in the Westerly Men’s Softball League for years. Steven absolutely worshiped the NY Yankees and Thurman Munson was his idol! He also was a fan of the NY Giants, the NY Knicks and the NY Islanders.
He leaves his two children, Cory J. Gencarella of Ledyard and Christopher E. Gencarella of Westerly; the mother of his children, Rosa M. Gencarella of Westerly; three siblings, Edward Gencarella, Jr. of Pawcatuck, Todd Gencarella of Florida and Gail Gencarella-Liebrich of Virginia; and three nephews.
