Obituary for Thomas E. Abbruzzese
Thomas E. Abbruzzese, of N. Main St., Bradford, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Monday, June 7, 2021. He was the husband of the late Nancy (Dunham) Abbruzzese.
Born in Bradford, he was the son of the late Raffael P. and Finita Abbruzzese.
Tom was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for years as a truck driver for Romanella & Sons, retiring in 1988. He was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church and a lifelong member of the Bradford Citizen’s Club.
He will be dearly missed by his seven children, Samuel E. Stewart IV (Rhonda), Marie Trapp, Dominic Abbruzzese (Brenda), Deborah Edgely, Joseph Abbruzzese (Tamara), Vernon Abbruzzese (Colleen), and Michael Abbruzzese; as well as numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by four siblings, Luigi and Charles Abbruzzese, Ralph Abruzzese and Florence Comeau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 14th at 10am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 7 Church St., Bradford. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at River Bend Cemetery, Westerly. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in care of the arrangements.
