Obituary for Antoinette M. Ravenelle (Campanella)

Antoinette M. (Campanella) Ravenelle of Westminster Street, Westerly passed away peacefully on June 28th, 2021 at the of impressive age of 101.

Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late Frank Campanella and the late Maria Carmela Campanella Buono. Antoinette was the beloved wife of the late Edmond Ravenelle for 73 years.

She will be deeply missed by her loving sons Frank Ravenelle and partner Linda Connors of Westerly, RI and Russell Ravenelle and wife Jean of South Pasadena, CA.

Antoinette will live on in her grandchildren: Lauren Ravenelle and her partner Tang of Santa Rosa, CA, Shane Ravenelle and his wife Jen of Irvine, CA, Mathew Ravenelle and Luke Ravenelle both of South Pasadena CA, Vanessa Harwood and her husband Michael of Westerly, and Brian Ravenelle and his wife Meghan of Westerly. “Meme” was loved by her great-grandchildren Jacob, Samson, Norah and Levi.

She was predeceased by her siblings Vincent Campanella, Esther C. (Campanella) Punturieri and Virginia (Campanella) Alice.
She was also predeceased by her foster parents Antonio and “Nellie” Trebisacci, and her foster siblings Louis, Sal, John, David, Tony and Josephine.

Antoinette was a member of the Westerly High School Graduating class of 1938. Following high school, Antoinette became a loyal employee for The Moore Company where she worked 3rd shift for 40 years. Antoinette was married in 1943 to her sweetheart Ed. She participated in the World War II effort by assembling plane propellers at Hamilton Standard while her husband was deployed.
Antoinette was a faithful parishioner of St. Pius X Church and an active member of the Legion of Mary where she lovingly cared for those in need. Antoinette was a faithful Red Sox fan and never missed a game. She had a strong faith, a generous heart, and an infectious love of Italian food. Antoinette was an incredible cook. Her house was always open and full of love, life, family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, 45 Elm St., Westerly, on Friday at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
