Obituary for Nancy Humphrey (Hay)
Nancy (Hay) Humphrey, beloved wife of Paul (Mel) J. Humphrey, of Spencer Drive, Westerly, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, August 15, 2021.
Born in Groton, CT, and raised in Orlando, FL, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin V. Hay Jr. and Dorothy M. Hay.
Nancy will be remembered for her generosity, empathetic heart, quick wittedness, and wicked sense of humor. She was a fiercely passionate woman that marched to the beat of her own drum.
She was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of 45 years Paul; children, Matthew P. Humphrey and wife Jaime of Gales Ferry, CT, Michelle E. Hagerman and husband Daniel of Pawcatuck, CT and Benjamin P. Humphrey and wife Rebecca Ravenelle of Brooklyn, NY; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved pets Duke, Daisy, and Dixie. Nancy was predeceased by her three brothers Ben (Pat), Barry, and Charles Hay.
