Obituary for Cathy J. Jarrard (Murray)
Cathy J. (Murray) Jarrard, 54, of Pawcatuck, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday September 12th, 2021.
Cathy was born at The Westerly Hospital to the late Douglas and Denise Murray. She grew up in the surrounding area and later married her husband David on June 3rd, 1989. Cathy worked in the medical field for many years where many will remember her kindness, wonderful smile and contagious laughter.
Cathy was most passionate about her children. She enjoyed cheering them on at their sporting events, taking late night drives to listen to music, and planning a summers worth of concerts. She took advantage of any opportunity to create memories and instill her infallible kindness into her kids. She will be lovingly remembered for her unrelenting strength during her illness to continue to be the best mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend.
In addition to her husband David W. Jarrard, she leaves behind two children, Alexander D. Jarrard (Alicia Goncalves) of Gales Ferry, CT and Abby G. Jarrard of Pawcatuck; two siblings, Douglas J. Murray, II (Lisa) of Hope Valley and D’Ann Murray (Christopher Corcoran) of Westerly; as well as two nephews, Douglas J. Murray, III and Joseph F. Murray.
Visiting hours will be held at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly on Thursday from 4PM to 7PM. Due to COVID concerns, the family respectfully requests that masks be worn by all in attendance. Funeral service and burial will be private. A Celebration of Life for all to attend will be announced at a later date. .
