Obituary for Frank Paul Haberek

Frank Paul Haberek, 77, of Hope Valley, passed away at home on December 8, 2021, surrounded by his family after a long battle with MS. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra (Moranto) Haberek.

Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Edgar and Fannie Haberek.

Frank worked as a teacher for Ella Grasso Technical High School for many years.
He was an avid outdoors man and wilderness enthusiast who loved fishing, hunting, horseback riding, haying and working in “the barn”.

In addition to his wife Sandra, he will be dearly missed by his three daughters, Darlene and Shawn Lacey of Westerly, Melissa and Mark Carrier of Hope Valley, and Rebecca and Brendan Burke of Portland, CT. He also leaves three siblings, Jerome Haberek, Carol (Sherman) Hoffman, and Edgar (Judy) Haberek; and eight grandchildren, Paige, Amber and Megan Lacey; Michaela, Mitchell and Montanna Carrier; and Breckin and Hayden Burke.

The family would like to thank all of the healthcare workers who provided treatment and care for Frank over the years.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 7 Church St., Bradford on Wednesday at 10am. There is no procession to church from the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Frank’s memory to the National MS Society.
