Obituary for T. Patricia Mackay

Patricia Mackay of Westerly, RI died peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. She was 89.

Born in Westerly and known as “Pat”, she was the daughter of the late John and Veronica (Lynch) Mackay. Pat graduated from Immaculate Conception School and Westerly High School. She worked in the Production Department at C.B. Cottrell & Sons Company and Harris-Seybold Company for 38 years and retired in 1990. She then worked for several years in Human Resources at Foxwood Casino.

Pat was devoted to both her faith and her family and was always available to share her love and support. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her recipes. She especially valued the memories of family trips to Ireland. An avid fan of her beloved New York Yankees, Pat rarely missed a game on TV. Pat was kind, generous, funny and ready to welcome everyone with a smile.

Pat is survived by her brother Jim Mackay and sister-in-law Marion, and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her sister Kathleen, her brothers Jack and Bob, and, just a few days ago, by her sister Claire with whom she lived for her entire life.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and caregivers at The Westerly Health Center for the love and kindness they showed to Pat over the last few years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Church, 60 Liberty St., Pawcatuck on Friday, May 13th at 10AM. The burial will be private. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, Westerly is in care of the arrangements. For online condolences please visit www.gaffneydolanfuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pat’s memory may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan Residence in Pawtucket RI and are deeply appreciated.
