Obituary for Charlene Geer (Parmelee)

Charlene Geer, 78, of Bradford passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 30, 2022.
Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude and Asahel Parmelee, Sr.

She attended Westerly High School, graduating class of 1962. During her tenure at Westerly, she participated in many groups including Band, Glee Club, Dance Band, Army Navy Team, Prom Committee, Operetta, All State Band, and the RI Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
As a young lady, Charlene was the first female to coach little league baseball in the state of Rhode Island. She also loved basketball and found great joy in supporting the Westerly Middle School Unified Basketball team and her daughter Rebecca as the coach. Charlene was a diehard Red Sox and Steelers fan.
Charlene worked at Acme Wire as a data processing manager for over 25 years, where she retired. In her retirement she found great solace in helping her close friends and family with their taxes. Some even moved across the country and still mailed them to her, knowing she would always get them the best return. She’s still waiting on Sue Honey’s!
Charlene was the epitome of a family woman. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the center of her world.
Charlene’s greatest joy was her little ones. They often joked about who was the favorite. Her heart belonged to all of them. As her family grew so did her love and devotion. Family was her everything.
Charlene had a strong faith and was a communicant of the Christ Episcopal Church. She shared her love of God with her family and friends.

She leaves behind a family that loved her beyond words. She leaves her son Jeffrey (Paulette), her daughter Rebecca (Don) and is predeceased by her daughter Susan. Along with them, she leaves her grandchildren, Lindsey (Donta), Stephen (Emily), Holly (Joshua), James (Danielle), Alison (Pat), Meghan, Jilian, Samuel (Tamara), John-Patrick, and Eva. She also leaves behind Bev, her longtime friend, confidant and travel companion; her brother Ace (Annita), and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Justin. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren, the loves of her life, Aiden, Logan, Ryelin, Kayden, Cooper, Kaleb, Sunny, Peyton, Kole, Leo and Skylar.
