Obituary for Ernest M. Bogue Jr.
Ernest M. Bogue, Jr., of Glasgo Road, Griswold, Connecticut, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022. He was 76.
Born in Westerly, he was predeceased by his mother Philomena Rathbun (Marino) and brother Robert Bogue.
He attended WHS, prior to enlisting to the US Army in 1963, receiving Awards for Sharpshooter Rifle M-14 and National Defense Service Medal it was also where he began a long career of both local and over the road truck driving and earned specialty Title LT Veh Dvr.
Ernie enjoyed meeting new people and seeing old friends everywhere he went, he never ran short on conversation.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Sharon of 54 years and their four children, Sharelle Whittle and husband Donald, E. Marshall Bogue and wife Donalynn, Erin Bogue and Ira Bogue; grandchildren, Heather, Zachary, Johnathan and Nicholas Whittle, Caleb and Ethan Bogue, Kevin and Olivia Berube; as well as great-grandchildren, Mason and Kora Whittle. Ernie also leaves his brother Ralph Tucker, wife Sally and their three children.
Visiting hours are omitted. A Funeral Service with Full Military Honors will be conducted at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 So. County Trail, Exeter at 10:30am on Friday, June 10th. Attendees are asked to arrive by 10:15 outside the Admin. Building. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in care of the arrangements.
