Obituary for Philip A. Chiaradio

Philip A. Chiaradio, Sr., beloved husband for 58 years of Claudia “Corki” Santos, of Tower Street, Westerly, passed away at The Westerly Hospital on Friday, June 10, 2022. He was 80 years old.

Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Anthony A. and Susie Chiaradio.

Philip worked as a pre-heat electrician at Electric Boat in Groton for many years. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. Philip had utmost devotion to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society as a member of the committee. He served in the National Guard, and was a member of the Westerly Armory. He was a lifetime member of the Calabrese Society and the Westerly Elks BPOE #678.
Phil enjoyed scuba diving in his younger years, as well as hunting, fishing – especially surfcasting, camping and golfing.

In addition to his wife Corki, he leaves behind two children, Philip A. Chiaradio, Jr. of Westerly and David M. Chiaradio of Lynn, MA; three grandchildren, Ajah J., Solena B., and Jasper P. Chiaradio; two great-grandchildren, Aubree and Noah; and many nieces and nephews. Philp was predeceased by his sister Rita Capalbo.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 15th, at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to church.
