Gabriel Steven Austin, loving son of Amanda Austin of Westerly and the late Albert M. Austin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the age of 23.

Knowingly quick witted, hilariously funny, and a heart of gold. His sparkling blue eyes could light up a room and his smile often became infectious. Gabe had a real talent when it came to art and loved to sketch and doodle. In his teen years he began pulling oxen and even competed in a few local fairs. Gabe was always adventurous and loved to live life “on the edge”.

In addition to his mother, he will be sadly missed by his brother Alexander E. Austin, sister Isabella C. Austin; niece Kinsley Austin; and several extended family members.

Gabriel was loved immensely by all who truly knew him. There is nothing that could ever fill the void he leaves in this world. Soar high, fly free, spread your wings for all to see. Your time on Earth is done, rest in eternal paradise.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly.
