Obituary for Thomas M. Carparelli
Thomas M. Carparelli, 88, beloved husband for 65 years of Mary (Quinlan) Carparelli, of Post Road, Westerly, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Margaret Carparelli.
Tom started working as a union carpenter in Connecticut following his graduation from Norwich Regional Technical High School. He then became the owner and operator of Red Brook Gulf where he enjoyed his customers for 30 years and then missed them greatly upon his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Clare Church where he served as an usher for several years. Tom was a veteran of the US Army.
In addition to his wife, he leaves their four children, Thomas P. Carparelli (Sue Bates) of Westerly, Kathleen M. Cambrola (Peter) of Warren, Pamela J. Blanchette (Girard) of Milford, MA and Mary Carparelli of Westerly. Tom is also survived by his two nephews, Edward Quinlan of Groton, CT and Daniel Quinlan (Rae) of N. Franklin, CT; and several cousins.
A Visiting Hour will be held at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly on Monday from 9am – 10:15am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Clare Church, 4 St. Clare Way, Misquamicut, following the visitation. Burial will be at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Tom’s memory to a charity of choice.
