Obituary for Judith A. Sylvia (Gley)
Judith A. (Gley) Sylvia, 80, beloved wife for 59 years of Edward F. Sylvia, Sr., of Morgan Street, Pawcatuck, passed away at L&M Hospital on Friday, July 29, 2022.
Born in New London, CT, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Agnes Gley.
Judy worked as a braider for Kellems for many years. She was an avid NY Yankee and NY Giants fan, and also loved the Boston and Providence Bruins. One of her favorite passions was reading and she never missed a Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her six children, Theresa Gentile (Gustavo Santos), John Sylvia (Tammie Sutton), Edward F. Sylvia, Jr. and wife Ana, Deborah Sylvia (Mike Collins), Manuel Sylvia and David Sylvia and wife Debbie. Judy is also survived by two sisters, Cathi Corlies and Eva Lowell; sixteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Stephen Sylvia; her grandson Joshua Sylvia; and by her sister Frances Satterlee.
