Obituary for Paul D. Gormly

Paul D. Gormly, formerly of Andersen Court, Westerly, passed away at Westerly Health Center on Friday, July 29, 2022. He was the husband of Patricia Ann (McLaughlin) Gormly who predeceased him in 2010.

Born in Cranston, RI, he was the son of the late Henry and Hope Gormly.

Paul was the owner and operator of Pit Stop in Westerly and Warren where he greeted his customers with his lighthearted temperament and humor. Before going into business for himself, he worked as a machinist at Brown &Sharpe.
Known for his deep passion for automobiles and the color red, he was one of the founding members of the Corvette Club of RI. He also was a master gardener who always had a plush, green lawn. Paul served honorably in the US Army.

He leaves behind his daughter Melissa (Gormly) Bell LoBianco and husband Ron of Wyoming, RI; three grandsons, Cameron Bell (Ashely) of Connecticut, Rory Bell of Panama City Beach, FL and Logan Bell-LoBianco of Wyoming, RI; one great-grandchild Chase Crowley Bell of Connecticut. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Powell Bell.
