Obituary for Janet E. Aiello (Forgue)

Janet E. (Forgue) Aiello passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Eugene Aiello; daughter Jennifer Luther and husband Mike; son Michael Aiello and wife Michele; four grandchildren, Emily, Amy, Cooper and Tessa; two sisters, Janice Vocatura (twin) and Debbie Gervasini.

Janet most recently worked as a medical receptionist at Dr. Vincent Montemarano’s practice for over 30 years. She enjoyed seeing many friends and people from the community and was gratified in helping them however she could.

Janet was born in Burriville, RI and moved to Westerly when she was 12 with her parents George and Margaret Forgue. She graduated from Westerly High School in 1966. Janet enjoyed sewing, cooking, and taking day trips to go antiquing. She loved going out to eat, whether with friends (including her high school group), or her family. She was a meticulous cleaner and passed down her many tricks and traits to all that would listen and even more so to those who didn’t. She was fiercely devoted to her family and was at her happiest when surrounded by them, celebrating their success or commiserating with them over heartache.

Janet’s love and support will be greatly missed by all that knew her, especially her family which she was so deeply dedicated to.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly. Burial will be private. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center at Westerly or to the Dana Farber Brigham Cancer Center in Janet’s memory.
