Obituary for Yolanda Luzzi (Crocco)

Iolanda (Crocco) Luzzi, of Batterson Avenue, Westerly, passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital on Friday, September 16, 2022 at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late Pasquale Luzzi.

Born in Acri, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Rosaria Crocco.

Iolanda was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. Iolanda immigrated from Italy to the United States in 1956. She and her husband were instrumental in supporting the immigration of countless family members in the years following. She devoted her life to her family by whom she will be deeply missed. She was a kind, gentle, and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She leaves behind six children, Angelo Luzzi (MaryAnn), Margaret Crandall (Linton), Maria Panciera (Michael), Rosa Durham, Dr. Joseph Luzzi (Helena) and Christina Lessing (Christopher); and sixteen grandchildren, Dion, Julie, Jessica, Michael, Janis, Angela, Christopher, Thomas, Matthew, Mark, Isabel, James, Annabel, Sofia, Nicholas and Michaela. She also leaves behind 10 great grandchildren. Iolanda was predeceased by three brothers, Giovanni, Angelo and Francesco Crocco.

Visiting hours are omitted. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, September 20th, at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly is handling the arrangements.
