Obituary for Thomas M. Alonge
Thomas M. Alonge, 28, of Ledyard, Connecticut, passed away on October 16, 2022.
Born in Norwich, Connecticut, Thomas was a beloved son of Carla Alonge-Richard and her husband Michael Richard. His father Robert M. Alonge predeceased him.
Thomas grew up in Gales Ferry and is a graduate of Ledyard High School where he played both baseball and basketball. He loved sports, music and the outdoors. He loved spending time with his friends, family, and his dog Ozzy. Thomas worked as a manager for Big Y Grocery in Mystic for many years.
In addition to his mother and her husband, he leaves two siblings, Robert J. Alonge and fiancée Megan Read of Groton, CT and Stephanie Alonge of Boston; as well as his aunts, Pat Sullivan, Diane Miritello, Olive Alonge, and Lauren Miritello; and uncles, Matthew Miritello, Michael Alonge, Paul Miritello, and Peter Miritello. He leaves behind 5 step-siblings, cousins and friends.
Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 21 at 12 noon at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly RI. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (www.NAMI.org).
