Obituary for Scott Eric Dewey
Scott Eric Dewey, of Westerly, RI and more recently of Fall River, MA; passed away at the Westerly Hospital on Tuesday, November, 1, 2022 at the age of 39.
As a young boy, Scott enjoyed BMX racing. Speeding around the tracks, flying around the corners, popping wheelies and doing jumps at the hill tops won him many trophies. One trophy was even taller than his youngest sister was at the time!
Scott loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping. Teaching his children to fish combined his two favorite things, being with his children and fishing. He loved working outdoors with his hands. He was a jack-of-all-trades doing whatever he could; roofing, mechanical work, landscaping and was a licensed arborist. Anything to keep him active and outdoors.
But nearest and dearest to Scott’s heart were his five children: Tyler, Kayleigh, Eric, Qlowie and Emma. They were the joy of his life. He made the most of every moment with them.
Scott is survived by his mother Geraldine (Hewins) Little and her husband Chris of Fall River, MA; his father Michael Dewey and “Mom” Darlene of Vernon, CT; his five sisters, Michelle Cropper and her husband Rich of La Plata, MD, Amber Dewey of Providence, RI, Ashley “Nikki” Dewey of Charlestown, RI, Sarah Dewey of Vernon, CT and Laura Bruckner and her husband Trae of Columbia, CT; his children, Tyler Dewey and Kayleigh Dewey of Pittsfield, MA and Eric Towne, Qlowie Towne and Emma Towne of Westerly, RI; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Scott’s Life will be held at a future date to be determined. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce Street, Westerly is in charge of the arrangements.
