Obituary for Robin M. Turano (Barnard)
Robin M. (Barnard) Turano, beloved wife for 40 years of Angelo Turano, of Marriott Avenue, Westerly, passed away at Hope Health Hospice in Providence on Monday, December 5, 2022. She was 64.
Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of Theo Clemens and stepdaughter of John Clemens, of Westerly. Robin’s father, Harold “Butch” Barnard, predeceased her.
Robin was a teacher’s aide at the former St. Pius X School until her promotion to full-time grandmother. Robin was a devoted Catholic who also loved the beach, cooking and spending any spare time with family and friends.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Angelo and their three daughters, Rebecca M. Kaiser, Gabriela Turano and fiancé Larry Bagley, and Erica L. Serra and husband Dane, all of Westerly. Robin also leaves behind her sister Denise (Jody) DeCarolis of Waterford, CT; three cherished grandchildren, Stella, Theo and Luciana; and four step-siblings, John Clemens II (Mary), Nanci-Beth Routhier (George), Stacy Clark (James) and Katrina Ahern (Steve) as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Kimberly Morrone; and her grandson Elijah.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 4pm – 7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly. There is no procession to church from the funeral home.
