Obituary for Helen M. King
Helen M. (Burns) King, 93, of Cottage Street, Westerly, passed away at her home on Friday, January 13, 2023.
She was born in the White Rock section of Westerly to the late John J. and Blanche Burns. Helen was also predeceased by four children, Jackie, Diane, Tarna and Krissy; and seven siblings.
Helen was employed at Griswold Textile Mill as a fabric maker for many years and was a lifelong parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church.
She was devoted to raising her family and will be missed dearly by two brothers, Mike Burns and wife Pat and David Burns and wife Sylva, and their families; as well as her daughter Deborah Tattersall and husband Rick; son Duane and wife Phyllis; nine grandchildren, Kristen (Gary), Shanna (Craig), Heather, Ashley, Alex, Joshua, Rachel, Olivia and Evan; seven great-grandchildren, Kayla, Nikki, Cody, Collin, Demetri, Mya and Helena; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly on Wednesday from 9am – 10:30am, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High St., Westerly.
