Obituary for Alice Bliven (Cross)
Alice (Cross) Bliven, of Westerly, passed away at Royal Westerly on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the age of 101. She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Bliven.
Born in Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Ray E. and Lucy Cross.
Alice worked as a supervisor in the Thread Dept. at Ashaway Line & Twine for many years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church as well as the church’s Women’s Circle.
She leaves behind her son William Bliven of Westerly; daughter’s-in-law Barbara Bliven and Alice Bliven; as well as eight grandchildren, Kathy (Mike) McCullough, Beth (Jim) Rice, Michelle (Dennis) Lewis, Cindy (Darrell) Phillips, Brad (Kerry) Johnson, Steve Johnson, Heather (Mike) Frink, and Michael (Deana) Bliven; sixteen great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her son Joseph B. Bliven; and her sisters and brothers.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 1, from 4-6 pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Funeral Service will take place at 10 am on Thursday, March 2 in the funeral home. Burial will follow at River Bend Cemetery, Westerly.
